Measurement Guidelines
For accuracy, take the average of at least three measurements and round to the nearest 0.5 inch:
- Height: Measure without shoes, standing straight against a wall
- Weight: Measure in PT uniform or similar clothing
- Neck: Measure below the larynx with tape sloping downward
- Waist: Measure at the navel level (males) or narrowest point (females)
- Hips (females only): Measure at the widest part of the hips
All measurements should be taken with a non-elastic tape measure.

About the Army Body Fat Program
The Army Body Composition Program (ABCP) establishes standards for body fat percentage to ensure soldiers maintain optimal health, fitness, and military appearance. This calculator uses the official formulas published on June 12, 2023.
The ABCP is designed to:

- Promote health and fitness throughout the Army
